Football

(left) QB Kasey Clemens accounted for 29 TD's and 2278 total yards for the potent Honker offense that averaged 36 points a game for the 2008 season.

(left) Matt Clemens leaves a couple of Heppner defenders in his wake for a big gain in the quaterfinals. LV beat Heppner 23-10 to advance to the state semi-finals for the 2nd year in a row.

(above) #23 Justin Murphy and #45 Colton Kamp lead the Honkers onto the field to face the defending state champion Culver Bulldogs in the semi-finlals at Summit HS in Bend. Culver won a hard fought game to end the Honkers season.

LV vs. Nestucca Video

Click for Video (not entire game)  of LV's 55-10 victory over Nestucca in the 1st round of the 08 playoffs. Nestucca came in to this game as co-NWL Champs and the only team to defeat the eventual State Champoin Knappa Loggers this year.

2008 All-State Team



Nine Honkers Selected to Team




The Awards keep coming in for the Lakeview Honker football team. A total of 9 Honkers were named to the 2008 All-State team including Sr. Kyle Eversole, who was picked 1st team offense at RB, and 1st team defense as a LB. 

Sr. Matt Clemens was selected  1st team as a wide reciever and 2nd team as a D-back, while Sr. Javier Martinez made the team at three positions, 1st team D-Lineman, 2nd team O-Lineman, and Honarable Mention as a kicker.

Sr. QB Kasey Clemens, the SCL "Back of the Year" and Sr. WR Shylo St. Clair were selected to the 2nd team offense.

Other Honkers making Honarable Mention were, Sr. O-Lineman Bill Cahill, Sr. RB Justin Murphy, Sr.  LB Mike Keeney, and soph. center George Swartzlander.

Dominate

 All-SCL



Led by "Coach of the Year" Lane Stratton, and "Back of the Year" Senior QB Kasey Clemens, the LV Honkers dominated the 2008 All Southern Cascade League football selections. The two time defending league champoin Honkers had a total of 15 players recieve All-SCL honors.

Three Honkers were selected for both 1st team offense and 1st team defense, SR.WR/DB Matt Clemens, Sr. RB/LB Kyle Eversole, and Sr.OL/DL Javi Martinez.  Matt Clemens was also selected 1st team return specialist, and Javi Martinez was selected 1st team PK.

Senior OL Bill Cahill, Sr RB Justin Murphy, Sr. QB Kasey Clemens, Soph. C George Swartzlander, and Sr. LB Mike "Rooster" Keeney were also selected to the first team.

Second team selections were, Sr. return specialist Matt Holloway, Sr PK Jack Elder, Sr. WR Shylo St. Clair, Punter Justin Murphy, Sr. DL Scott Perez, and LB's SR. Mike Tucker, Sr. Colton Kamp, and Jr. AJ Swartzlander.

The ALL-SCL team is voted on by Southern Cascade League Coachs.
