Lakeview's Season Comes to a End With a Loss to Illinois Valley

On Friday night the Honkers had a tough time getting the ball moving.  In the first half Lakeview had multiple dropped balls and didn't score one time.  The score at halftime was 0-21 with the Honkers down.  After halftime the Honkers received the ball and made their first score and a two point conversion making the game 8-21.  After the ball went back and forth between both teams a few times the opponent scored again making it 8-27.  The Honkers were quick to respond with another touchdown making the game 14-27.  After another holdout Lakeview got the ball back and scored.  This put the game to 21-27.  Illinois Valley turned the ball over with four seconds remaining, enough for only one play.  The Honkers threw the ball way up and caught it only to come up four yards short.

Senior Night Was a Part of the Win Against Rogue River

Friday night was Senior Night.  All the seniors painted honker feet in the endzone and placed their number inside and their name, initials, or nickname below it.  Seniord night consisted of seniors walking down the track with their parents and other senior "get togethers."  Lakeview beat Rogue River which leads them to a record of 7-1 as they travel to Illinois Valley next week.  The winner of that game will go to the play-offs.

Lakeview Recovered After Loss With a 41-8 Win Over Rogue River

Lakeview had no problem scoring Friday night as they started the game with a touchdown on the first offensive play.  Payton Hamilton took the ball to the left on a run all the way for a 40+ yard touchdown.  After a few more drives the Honkers scored again with passes from Kyle Johnson to Jon Gruber and Bryce Davis for big yards.  Jeremiah Taylor then took the ball on the ground for multiple gains.  The Honkers took halftime with a 20-0 lead.  Lakeview then came out and scored twice in the third quarter and once in the fourth.  Lakeview's defense held well against a superior running game and only allowed Christian Rease of Rogue River, who has over 2,000 yards rushing on the season, to score one time in the fourth quarter after receiving ball nearly every previous down.

Lakeview received their first lost after a game with the Challengers.  Cascade Christian started running, and never stopped.  Lakeview was able to stop the Challengers a few times and then lost the ball as well.  The Honkers couldn't seem to pull together a scoring drive until the third quarter where they scored six.  The game ended with a 33-6 loss for Lakeview.

Lakeview's JV was able to play quite a bit Friday night due to some early scoring by the varsity.  In the first quarter the varsity was able to put up a 36-0 lead.  In the second quarter the JV offense as well as some defensive subs went in.  Lane Hadley (HB) of JV was able to score in the second quarter off of a run to the right side.  After a extra point the game was 43-0 at halftime.  Lakeview received the ball after halftime and scored on the first play which was a big run by Peyton Hamilton (WR) from wildcat.  That was the final touchdown scored by Lakeview in the game.  Chiloquin called a timeout in the red zone with 35 seconds left in the game.  After the timeout they scored but didn't have time to attempt and extra point.  The game ended 50-6 in favor of Lakeview.

Lakeview Goes 3-0 With A Win Over Bonanza

Big Win Number Three

On Friday night the Lakeview Honkers took on the Bonanza Antlers on Bonanza's Homecoming.  The Honkers started off well scoring three times in the first quarter and allowing only one touchdown off of a screen pass.  The second and third quarters weren't nearly as good for the Honkers considering they only scored once and the Antlers scored twice making the game 27-21.  In the fourth quarter Lakeview got some fire going again and pulled out of the game 46-21 despite several penalties.
