Cy, AJ, and George Swartzlander win State Titles

Jay Lysne (135) finished 2nd, Matt Holloway (145), and Mike Tucker (171) both took 4th to help the Honkers to their 2nd straight runner up position. Culver won the State Championship.

9 Honkers

Advance to State

2/21/09-Lakeview will be well represented in the 2A/1A state tournament.

 Cy Swartzlander, AJ Swartzlander, George Swartzlander, and Jay Lysne all placed 1st in the district tournament in Irrigon to advance to the finals. 

Also qualifying were Micheal Tucker, Sam McFarland, Matt Holloway, Payton Hamilton, and Javi Martinez.

The state tournament is Friday, February 27th and Saturday February 28th at the Memorial Colesium in Portland.

Honkers Win Tall Man Title

2/7/09-The Lakeview Honkers had 7 indvidual champoions and rolled to the team title in the 77th annual Tall Man Tournament at Honker Court.

LV's Cy Swartzlander was named the tournaments Most Outstanding Wrestler after he won by decision over North Lake's Avery Overton in the 130 pound championship bout. Both are former state champions.

Other LV individual champions were: Jay Lysne (135), Payton Hamilton (140), A.J. Swartzlander (152), Mike Tucker (171), George Swartzlander (215), and Tate Frank (285).

Next up for the wrestlers is the Class 2A/1A  pre-district tournament next saturday at Honker Court.

 

Cy Swartzlander wins 125 lb. Title at Corning

1/31/09- Cy Swatzlander took 1st palce(125) and 4 other Honker wrestlers placed as LV had a strong showing at the Cornong (Ca.) Invitational.

AJ Swartzlander took 2nd (145),  Jay Lysne (135),  Peyton Hamilton (140), and George Swartzlander (189), all placed third for Lakeview.

Lakeview finished 5th out of 43 teams at the prestigous tournament

Next up is the Tall Man Tournament this Saturday (2/7/09) at Honker Court.

 

Lakeview Finishes 3rd at Burney Meet

1/17/09- Lakeview had 2 individual champions, with Cy Swartzlander winning at 130, and Payton Hamilton at 140, and the team took 3rd place at the Burney Rotary Invitational wrestling tournament.

The Honkers had 3 runner ups: Jay Lysne (135), Matt Holloway (145), and AJ Swartzlander (152). AJ Swartzlander was named the tournaments "Most Sportsmanlike Wrestler".

Next up for Lakeview is a home meet on Thursday (1/22/09) at Honker Court. 

Honkers take 2nd at Basin's Best

 Cy and AJ Swartzlander placed first in their wieght classes, as the Lakeview wresting team took 2nd place in the Klamath Basin's Best Tournament last saturday.
